On Sunday morning 23rd April 2017. When most of us will still be in bed, recovering from the night before a young lady from Tividale will be on the starting line of the prestigious London Marathon.
Our own Jenny Woodhouse will be following in the footsteps of Kieron and Janine Williams as Tividale residents and Social Club members who have entered this event and as with the Williams’s we at Tividale FC are extremely proud of her.
Jenny was a smoker for 24 years and in January 2015 decided she needed to do something else as giving up smoking was making her eat more and put on a bit of weight. Here is her story:…..
I decided to get fit and start running without joining a running club. I set a standard of running several lampposts. When I put this into practise I could only run one and walk another. I persevered until I was running 3 lampposts and walking one. So through my own encouragement with the help of “map my run” I did my first mile, then one mile became two, two became three, and so on.
Since then I have done a number of races and one of them being the Birmingham half marathon in October of this year raising £1461.00 for a charity that is also close to my heart.
My aim is to raise as much money as I can for this amazing charity Action Heart, because without them a very close friend of my family would not be here today.
I would like to thanks each and everyone for there support and there donations because without them I wouldn’t of been able to raise such an amazing amount for my charity Action Heart which is located at Russells Hall Hospital.
