THE FACTS

West Midland Regional League

Premier Division

Tividale FC v Smethwick FC

Saturday 22nd December

Kick off at 3.00pm

This is Tividale’s last game before Christmas. So we will start by wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas.

This league game is against a club that over the years have changed their name a few times. Some slightly as in Smethwick Rangers and others not so subtle as in Warley Rangers. But they are Smethwick FC now and are also now based at the High Ercal ground of Dudley Sports. They currently lie in 13th place and although there current league form is not great, they did win their last league game against landowners Dudley Sports 1-0 that ended a run of 5 winless matches.

THE HISTORY

This is the reverse league fixture as the two sides met on the first day of the season and Tividale ran out comfortable 5-0 winners on a day that will be about 30 degrees warmer than the day of this game and a pitch, well let’s just call it challenging. Two goals from Demetri and one each from Brad, Dan Smith and Tyree gave them the win

The results in the 2017-2018 season were just as emphatic. Tividale winning 3-1 at The Beeches in August 2017 with Curtis, Dan Smith and the unfortunate Dan Wells getting the Tividale goals and Colin Smith netted the Smethwick goal. It was a 4-0 win at High Ercal at the end of last season with Demetri, Darragh, Lee Smith and Ben Birch on the score sheet.
