MITCHELL Botfield has warned Tividale not to underestimate Sporting Khalsa when they entertain the West Midlands Regional League outfit in the JW Hunt Cup Quarter-Final tie at The Beeches tomorrow night (KO 19:45).
‘Dale beat Sporting Khalsa in the final of the respective competition back in May and Botfield says Ian Rowe’s side will prove difficult opposition.
He said “They have nothing to lose and they are a decent side.
“Ian Rowe has got them playing for each other and they are flying in their respective league.
“We need to be on our best form to ensure we win the tie.”
Midfield player Botfield, 21, will be sidelined with an ongoing ankle injury and won’t figure tomorrow evening but will be in attendance either way to get behind his teammates.
“I’ve not played much football recently and I’m still not 100% fit, which is frustrating.
“But, I will be at the game regardless to get behind the boys and play my part to try and ensure we progress to the semi-final of the competition.
“We won this competition last season at Molineux and I’d like to think we can go on to succesfully defend the trophy.”
And Botfield, who played for BK Sport in Sweden earlier in his career says the three points at Loughborough were well deserved and will give ‘Dale confidence for the remainder of the season.
“It was an excellent victory.
“We probably weren’t at our best but we did the job and secured the win.
“There’s no reason why we can’t continue in this manner and have a successful second half of the campaign.”
