ASSISTANT Manager Richard Colwell has told Tividale’s players not to be complacent ahead of this weekend’s game with Kidsgrove Athletic at The Beeches (KO 15:00).

Kidsgrove currently lie third from bottom of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South but Colwell believes they sit in a false position and are a much improved outfit under current boss Peter Ward.

He said “Peter is doing a good job with Kidsgrove and they are much improved to earlier in the season.

“We travelled to Kidsgrove for his first game in charge back in November and had to settle for a point on the day.

“I truly believe they remain in a false position and we need to be at our best to take all three points on Saturday.”

Tivi go into the game having ended Spalding United’s 15 game unbeaten run with an excellent 2-0 victory and the former Stourport Swifts manager wants ‘Dale to start the game on Saturday as they did last weekend at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

Colwell added “I thought we settled down well last weekend and got our rhythm going very quickly.

“We looked dangerous going forward from very early on and hopefully we can start at that intensity again this weekend.

“We are playing at home for the first time since New Year’s Day and I hope we can win the game.”
