Helloooo and welcome to this week’s edition of From Communications Corner! If this is your first time reading this Weekly Feature then welcome aboard the Submariners’ World of Communicating!
I think it’s only right that I start with the sad news regarding Maxine Smith, who peacefully passed away last week after suffering from terminal cancer.
All of our thoughts here at Tividale Football & Social Club are with Maxine’s family at this very difficult time. ‘TEAM MAX’ have done Maxine proud, and I’m sure that Dave Bates and Julia Sorrow will continue with their excellent work moving forward; we’re all proud of you and the team, too.
Back to the club, myself and Richard Harrison are close to finalising our Charitable Status application, and full details regarding constitution changes will be made public at the AGM.
I’d like to place on record my sincere thanks to Helen Trueman for her co-operation through this process. Helen’s work, capabilities and advice will certainly lead to a very bright future for all here at Tividale Football & Social Club.
Talking of the AGM, we are now hoping the meeting will take place on Thursday, August 20th, rather than the initial date that was set for the end of this month. Sorry for any inconvenience but we felt it were better served that we amended the date of the meeting.
‘TIVIDALE PRESENTS’ Craig Halford as Meatloaf on Saturday night from 20:00 onwards, and that should be a treat for you all.
Talking of Saturday, the first team play their opening pre-season friendly at Bedworth on Saturday. I know that both Ross Thorpe and Phil ‘Spiller’ Male are looking forward to it. I have a sneaky feeling Ross may have a surprise up his sleeve for Phil, mind 🙂
The squad is coming together nicely and we will most certainly be announcing further signings in the coming days and weeks as we move close to the opening weekend of the 2015-16 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, Division One South season.
I’ve been in regular contact with Alan Allcock (League Operations Manager, Northern Premier League) over the past week or two and those conversations will continue throughout the season, as we need to ensure that the league and the football club are working as closely as we possibly can do, week in and week out.
Finally, our Principal Sponsors BUILDBASE are currently running their GET IN!! promotion, and you can find all the details by visiting buildbase.co.uk or visit their Cradley Heath store on Powke Lane (B64 5PX). They are a great bunch down there, and the store also incorporates the HIREBASE, PLUMBASE and ELECTRICBASE sections of the Grafton Group.
See you at the bar, Submariners!
