Helllooo and welcome to this week’s edition of From Communications Corner!
How’s your week been? We’re in December – crazy, yeah?
But we are hoping for a great festive month here @TiviFCofficial, and I hope to see you here throughout what I believe to be the best month of the calendar year.
Starting with football and, again, it was a very, very disappointing final 30 minutes at Carlton Town last weekend. To be 2-1 up away from home and lose 5-2 in a six pointer was very disappointing.
We knew that if we won the game, we would have definitely been out of the relegation zone after the game. As it is, we’ve much work to do, and that work starts on Saturday against Lincoln United at The Beeches.
It was a horrible day in Nottinghamshire and once Chris Sterling had put us ahead just after half-time, I thought there may be a bit of cheer for us at the end of the afternoon. It wasn’t to be, and we have to respond.
Away from the football field, we held our monthly committee meeting on Tuesday evening.
As of 2016, we will be making alterations to Saturday night’s in the Social Club. More on that in the coming weeks, but I and the whole committee believe we needed to make one or two changes to the weekend schedule.
But, before Christmas, we have plenty of events taking place in the Club and full details of those events will be on tividalefc.com, @TiviFCofficial and the Facebook page in the coming days.
We are looking at ways to change things, looking at themed nights in the New Year. Sometimes you have to change things just to ‘freshen’ things up a little bit.
Members have voiced that they want one or two things to change and we will always try to accommodate those suggestions where we possibly can. Bottom line is it’s your club, and we want to make it the best it possibly can be for you to use it.
Last Sunday was great, by the way. Thanks for everyone who joined us for the reduced prices on draught, as The Baggies managed to pick up a very useful point at West Ham United. Mr. Harrison seemed satisfied with a draw 🙂
Entertainment wise this weekend sees two separate acts taking to the stage, one of which I know very, very well.
‘CARLA’ returns to the Social Club, and I’m sure you’ll remember her performance from earlier this year. She’s an extremely talented vocalist and I’m sure you’ll enjoy her performance on Saturday evening. Look after her in my absence, won’t you? 🙂
Joining Carla on the night is Jon Bonovox, who’s a terrific U2 tribute, so you’re in for a treat this Saturday evening from 20:00. Two acts, two brilliant acts, make sure you’re down the Club for that night of entertainment.
Right, that’s about it from me.
See you at the bar, Submariners!
