GOALKEEPER Jack Hayfield has today joined former club Tipton Town, as revealed on our @TiviFCofficial Twitter page earlier this afternoon.

Hayfield signed for ‘Dale having played under Ian Long at Tipton and is reunited with Ben Hadley, who also joined Town last month.

And the Tivi boss has nothing but praise for the departing 23 year old shot-stopper.

He said “Jack has been fantastic and I’d like to thank him whole heartedly for his professionalism and commitment to this football club.

“I worked with Jack at Tipton and had no qualms about bringing him here to Tividale.

“Having spoke with him at length, he made it clear he wanted regular first team football and that’s natural to any footballer, not just Jack.”

Long is hopeful of bringing in a replacement for Hayfield over the coming days and discussions with potential replacements have already begun.

“Jack leaving leaves us with a big hole to fill, that’s for certain.

“We have made an approach for a goalkeeper today and we’d like to think that we could have somebody in by the time we play Sporting Khalsa in the JW Hunt Cup on Tuesday night.”

Goalkeeping Coach Chris Walwyn was also complimentary of Hayfield after completing his move away from The Beeches.

“Jack has been a pleasure to work with and he’s been extremely unfortunate due to the form of Charlie Price.

“He’s a top kid and I’m disappointed he’s leaving us; I wish him all the best for the future.”
