TIVIDALE boss Ian Long has called for an improved performance from his players in tomorrow night’s Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South fixture with Goole AFC at The Beeches (KO 19:45).
Long was disappointed with Tivi’s overall display in the 1-1 draw against Rainworth on Saturday with a late Sam Williams equaliser salvaging a point for the home side.
And the former Tipton Town boss wants to see an instant reaction from ‘Dale tomorrow night.
He said “It wasn’t great, was it? I was really disappointed with the performance from beginning to end and that’s the second time in a week. Luckily Sam got the equaliser to ensure we at least took a point from what was an all round poor game of football.
“We were disappointing at Goole last weekend and we must improve significantly tomorrow night if we are to win the game.”
However, Long was impressed with both Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham and recent signing Jamie King when they appeared from the bench.
“I thought Shaq was excellent when he came on. Credit to him, he did well. He’s got a big future in the game if he continues to show willingness to learn.
“Jamie did well, too. Again, he’s a young lad playing at a new level of football but he’s adapted himself well.”
