IAN Long was disappointed that Saturday’s game with Goole AFC was postponed for a second occasion as he now looks forward to tomorrow night’s home fixture with Romulus in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One South (KO 19:45).

Heavy rainfall was experienced once again across the Black Country over the weekend and referee, Eddie Smart, postponed the match following a 10:15 pitch inspection due to surface water affecting parts of The Beeches’ pitch.

Tivi’s players trained on Saturday afternoon preparing for tomorrow evening’s game with The Roms, who ‘Dale beat on penalties last Monday night to progress to the Semi-Final stage of the Walsall Senior Cup.

And Long, 39, is hoping to have a fully fit squad to choose from as his side look for a fourth consecutive victory in all competitions.

He said “It was disappointing the game was called off on Saturday but we managed to train well and prepare for the game tomorrow night. It will be tough, as it was last Monday at their place in the Walsall Senior Cup.

“Hopefully the extra couple of days will bring Zac (Foster) and Jordan (Archer) into contention. They both trained on Saturday and came through the session without any problem having suffered knocks at Romulus last week during the game.”
