- THE FACTS
West Midland Regional League
Cradley Town FC v Tividale FC
Saturday 29th December
Kick off at 3.00pm
Tividale will be looking to carry on their fine form from their last two outings. First the 5-1 win against a very useful Paget Rangers and the 11-0 demolition of a Smethwick side in transition.
This is one of our local derbies and are usually close affairs. Over the last couple of years though we have held the upper hand.
Cradley appointed their manager Chris Butts in September after previous manager Ashley Causer stepped down. They currently lie in 12th place and are in a great run of form. Although losing 4-2 last time out against AFC Bridgnorth. Previously they drew 1-1 at Wednesfield and beat Wem Town and Pershore Town 4-1 and Shifnal 3-1. So this is going to be another tough game. They also have ex Tividale player Nigel Penney in their squad.
This is a reverse league fixture as the two sides met in August prior to the management change at Beeches View. Brown, Bustin and Dan Smith scored in a 3-0 win to Tividale.
In the 2017-2018 season again the two teams met at Tividale in sunny August and it was a hotly contested penalty from Joe Lawley that separated the sides and earned Tividale the points.
The reverse fixture was a real humdinger on a damp December day. Non league journeyman Lee Chilton lined up for Cradley. But 2 goals each from Dan Smith and Joe Lawley (including another penalty) and one from Demetri Brown gave Tividale a 5-3 win.
