Tividale Football Club would like to clarify their position regarding media reports that Goalkeeper, Sheridan Martinez, has been signed by the club.

A club statement reads:

“On Thursday (22nd January) evening, former Hereford United Goalkeeper Sheridan Martinez attended Tividale Football Club and trained with the first team with a view to signing ahead of our weekend fixture at Newcastle Town.

“We had spoken with several Goalkeeper’s throughout the week leading up to the fixture due to the absence of both Charlie Price and Paul Evans.

“Relevant paperwork was completed following the training session that concluded at 21:00, however the deal never materialised when we attempted to register the player on Friday morning as per normal protocol.

“Although we do not feel it necessary to explain the reason behind the registration difficulties, Tividale Football Club were told categorically that Sheridan Martinez would not be able to sign official paperwork until a specific discrepancy had been resolved.

“As a result of the alleged discrepancy, Tividale Football Club were given permission by Tipton Town in due course to register Jack Hayfield for Saturday’s fixture with Ryan Winwood featuring for the Midland FootballLeague outfit as part of that agreement.

“The discrepancy in question has since been resolved and Tividale Football Club have been informed that his registration has been completed.

“Tividale Football Club will be making no further comment regarding this matter.”
