TOM Turner believes Tividale will find their form in the coming games following two consecutive defeats to start the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, Division One South campaign.

Dale have suffered defeats against Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Newcastle Town respectively in the space of four days but the former Causeway United ‘keeper believes points are just around the corner for Ross Thorpe and Phil Male’s troops ahead of this weekend’s trip to Spalding United.

The 22-year-old, who pulled off a superb double save from a Jordan Cole penalty in Staffordshire on Tuesday night said: “We have been unlucky, there’s no two ways about that. But we need to cut out the little errors that are being punished.

“That’s the nature of this league, you don’t get a second chance – every mistake is punished, and we have to keep working hard in training. We are new to each other, but that will only remain the case for so long.”

Tivi’s No.1 believes the squad have come a long way in such a short space of time but accepts that points are very much on the agenda at Spalding and when Dale entertain Rugby Town next Tuesday night at The Beeches (KO 19:45).

He added: “We have done very well, and I don’t think people would say we’ve only known each other six or seven weeks but that doesn’t change the fact we have played two games and taken nothing from them.

“Spalding had a good victory midweek and have four points from six, and it’s a difficult place to play. But we have quality going forward and we need to start putting our chances away.

“Then we play Rugby Town on Tuesday at home which is another game where we can target points. There’s no real pressure on us at the moment but it would be nice to get some points in these next two games to help the confidence.”
